Description

Unsinkable is the definitive memoir by film legend and Hollywood icon Debbie Reynolds.

In Unsinkable, the late great actress, comedienne, singer, and dancer Debbie Reynolds shares the highs and lows of her life as an actress during Hollywood’s Golden Age, anecdotes about her lifelong friendship with Elizabeth Taylor, her experiences as the foremost collector of Hollywood memorabilia, and intimate details of her marriages and family life with her children, Carrie and Todd Fisher.

A story of heartbreak, hope, and survival, “America’s Sweetheart” Debbie Reynolds picks up where she left off in her first memoir, Debbie: My Life, and is illustrated with previously unpublished photos from Reynolds’s personal collection.

Debbie Reynolds died on December 28, 2016, at the age of 84, just one day after the death of her daughter, actress and author Carrie Fisher.

I could not put this down. The story is written so well. I felt her joy as well as her pain all through the book. She is such a strong woman and a good role model with her "can do" attitude. I've always admired Debbie Reynolds and I wish I could have the opportunity to actually meet her. Bravo Debbie!!!

Thoroughly enjoyed this book! I have always loved Ms. Reynolds films and have seen most of them. She is a wonderful actress and I feel like I know her much better now. I am sorry she has struggled in her private life and that her museum never was a reality; but she leaves behind a real legacy for all of us to enjoy! She's a winner!!!

I am in total awe of Debbie Reynolds after reading this book. She has seen and been through it all -- from vaudeville to HBO as a singer/dancer, actress, hotel owner, avid collector and museum curator to wife, mother and grandmother. The people she has known and continues to know are simply the best of the best in show business. She tells you about the things she got right as well as some of the mistakes she made. Thank you Ms. Reynolds for being the Unsinkable you. P.S. The Unsinkable Molly Brown is one of my favorite films along with Singing in the Rain.

Thank you for this book. I grew up in a small town in Nebraska, watching you dance and sing your way to stardom. I so appreciate your efforts to preserve old Hollywood! I'm so glad that the collection was able to give back to you and your family. It restores my faith in good deeds and the karma that it generates.

The title says it all. This is a book well written and hopefully read by many. Most biographies are poorly written causing the reader to 'struggle' through the book. This book does NOT fall into that trap. It was a GREAT book! Thank you Miss Reynolds for sharing so much of yourself both on screen and especially within the pages of this book.
  • A delight.
